I just received my e-mail from Shade about their liquidation sale and I am wondering if any of the past PS have any more information? I'm still a believer of modest dressing and turn to Shade for cute styles! I will be so sad if Shade is totally going out of business. If anyone has any information I'd love to hear it! WOW!! Did anyone see the new costs for shipping to Canada!!! They are disgusting!! I am deeply saddened that they are okay with loosing the Canadian Market, as no one will pay those prices! Even as a Ex Personal Shopper I dont want to pay those prices. I have a ton of shade credit and even with our 40% discount, it is not worth paying the shipping prices to get a few shirts. Sent them an email to see what and why they were thinking this is okay.

I'm wondering about the fit of the swim suits this year. Has anyone tried them on. Last year I thought the bottoms ran big, any ideas on how they are fitting this year? I really like the stripped hermosa top in grey, I can't tell from the pictures if the midsection is tight or meant to be loose. Thanks for your help and input!

I can't help it! I'm going to hate seeing all of the new stuff on the Shade website b/c I sold over $9,000 last quarter & that was supposed to mean 30 free samples for me!!! Ughhhhhh.... I can't help but be frustrated right now. Cute stuff on the website though... jean shorts, A-line skirts, cute dress and I'm sure this is just the beginning. I actually had a dream that Shade decided to honor the free samples that we earned from the quarterly incentive. Wouldn't that be nice!!

Bath Time at Grandmas's House

32 weeks

I didn't take many Christmas morning but here's one with Grandpa

Well, the holidays are over and I'm sad because:

- it is -40 degrees here in Saskatoon (church was even canceled today!)...and in Calgary it is -6 degrees

-Brad starts school tomorrow and it is back to the grind

-no more lazing around playing games all day and watching movies

Besides that, there are a few things to look forward to:

-Baby #2 in Feb. and time to get ready!

-Spring

-Summer!!

We had a great holiday visiting family in Strathmore and Mountain View. Ben grew up so much. He finally took his first steps watching his cousins zoom around him and his vocabulary increased so much. He is a new boy now. Climbing up on things, chucking everything he can get his hands on and saying NO!!

What information do you think is important to get from the OMS before it is deactivated tomorrow?

-client e-mail address/phone numbers (helpful for selling samples and keeping in touch)
-Showcase numbers for hostess credit
-invoice info for orders where your own credit card was used

Am I missing anything?

As a side note, I am very sad about the Personal Shopper Program being cancelled- things were really growing for me! BUT, I'm selling $1400 worth of samples (they're worth more). I'll keep my faves and like Mandi said- I'll have great hangers for my own closet now!

Exporting Clients from Shade Clothing Webmail

I was able to export my client list of emails from Webmail. It didn't turn out pretty but I'm not complaining since I didn't have to manually copy all of the email addresses. I thought it might be useful to have and figured I might as well do it before I can't log onto the OMS.

After logging in to Webmail, I clicked on Address Book. In the menu on the top, the last one (like the fourth over) there's a link to "Export Clients." It took a few minutes for the next dialog box to load. The dialog box is called "File Download" and I selected to "save" instead of "open." It is defaulted to save as a Microsoft Office Excel Comma Separated Values File. I ended up with a bunch of empty columns that I'll hopefully be able to delete later.

We had a conference call this morning and learned the Shade Personal Shopper Program is being cancelled, effective Saturday, December 20th. I was surprised and am sad but have good memories of working with Shade and meeting new people.

Here is the newsletter I sent out to my customers last night. I was very positive and optimistic in my last email but I have to admit that I'm still pretty upset by the whole thing. I have a client base of 500 customers! And I know a lot of them make purchases from/through me because of the personal connection/relationship that I've built with them over the past two years. I know Shade can survive on their own, but i think they will see a substantial loss with the rest of us "dissolved" over the next year. Grrrrr. Anyway, I didn't include a link to my samples- I'll do that after this weekend is over. I hardly feel three days was enough time to get that managed as well so it will just have to wait.

- I'm glad we still have a way to chat and stay involved w/ one another! I miss you girls already ; (

Here is the email I sent out last night. I have already sold more than half of my samples ($300+ worth). I also had several well-wishing emails and even a few job offers - ha ha! Many customers placed orders online as well as a final support for me. I hope it helps you guys...

I’M NO LONGER WITH SHADE

Shade announced some upsetting news for me today. They have decided to dissolve the Personal Shopper Program at the end of this week.

This means that this will be the last email that you get from me about Shade. I will no longer be associated with the company and my email address will be deactivated December 31^st.

I am very sad about the decision and the effects I will feel in my own life and with my family. I have been with Shade for almost three years, and have built a clientele of over 600 customers. I love Shade’s products and the company and have enjoyed every minute I have been with them. I have felt a real loss today and I will miss being able to serve each and every one of you.

But I am excited for the success Shade has seen in other channels of distribution. Chelsea, Shade’s founder, never dreamed of Shade becoming as big as it has and they have decided that the PS Program was just too complicated. They were not able to put the attention they needed to keep it going. Shade is feeling the effects of the economy right now and plans to focus their growth in retail storefronts, Macy’s, Costco’s, and of course online sales.

As for you, Shade says that they are working on a plan to take better care of your customers than they ever have before. But after December 20^th there will not be a 5% discount for purchasing with a PS Code. I will no longer have samples available to try on. And, I will no longer be able to do Shade showcases. Also any questions you have about products in the future will need to be directed to Shade Corporate at customerservice@shadeclothing.com.
